For the development of tourist’s routes in the frame works of the project “Development of the River Narva water tourist routes and integration into the Baltic Sea small harbours network” («Narva River Water Routes»), on 13.08. 2007 was signed an agreement with Tallinn consulting company which specialization is tourism and marketing Consumetric OÜ.

The project «Narva River Water Routes» is directed at the studying of opportunities for the development of water tourism on the Narova River and was approved by the managing committee of the Neighborhood Program INTERREG III for the Baltic Sea region INTERREG IIIA North priority.

The leading partner is the Narva Department of city property and economy of Narva town council. From the Russian part the partners are municipal formations of Ivangorod and Kingisepp and Municipal fund of sustainable development of Ivangorod.

One of the project’s aims is the development of tourist’s routes on the Narva River. It is planned to make the routes in the way when they meet the interests of various target groups and join the river trip with favorite and captivating affairs. For example, a special tourist’s route for family rest, wedding route, a route for mushrooms and berries pickers.

Tallinn company Consumetric OÜ that has won the competition of making the routes, on the 10th of September organized the second meeting for the partners of the project, which aim was the presentation of marketing research, concordance of other additional information that is necessary for making the routes and determining following actions on routes making.

The representative of Consumetric OÜ, Oliver Loode presented the examples of successful river routes in Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden, USA and Estonia. Mister Loode conducted an excursion about the history of river tourism on the Narva that existed from 1872 up to 1958.

In October 2007 Consumetric will present 5 tourist’s routes on the Narva river to the project partners. 3 most appropriate will be chosen.
